Along the way, we make several cultural and natural stops, including a visit to the pre-Inca cemetery of Ninamarca and the traditional Andean town of Paucartambo (2,900 m), famous for its folklore and colonial architecture.

Continuing to Acjanaco Pass, the official entrance to Manu National Park, we begin our descent into the lush cloud forest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the region. Here, the landscape is dominated by orchids, ferns, bromeliads, begonias, and other tropical plants.

Wildlife sightings are common in this area, and we may encounter woolly monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and a remarkable variety of birdlife. We visit a Cock-of-the-Rock lek (Rupicola peruviana) to observe Peru’s national bird performing its spectacular courtship display.
